CFD assessment was completed for wind microclimate and thermal comfort at ground level within different target zones of the development. The assessment results supported the design and MEP teams of Diriyah Square to improve outdoor thermal comfort conditions and wind microclimate. Different active and passive mitigation measures were tested, including:
• Shading devices
• Wind protection screens
• Mist systems
• Radiant cooling
• Mechanical ventilation
• And different material properties
